Imunify360: Preemptive AI Based Security System Against Attacks

It is Imunify360, a next-generation security solution -for Linux web servers- that based on machine learning technology and whose purpose is to provide total protection against malicious attacks and abnormal behavior through a multi-layered approach and proactive defense. Do you want to know more about it? Pay attention!

What is Imunify360?

As we have mentioned, it is an automated security solution aimed at protecting websites and web servers from digital attacks. Imunify360 is powered by Artificial Intelligence and Proactive Defense, which means that it works based on machine learning to protect against known and unknown malware, in addition to fighting other threats. Do you want to know how it works? Check out its features below.

Imunify360 features:

IDS/IPS has a collection of rules related to the denial policy that it will use, as parameters, to quickly block attacks. It is also capable of monitoring and analyzing the server log files.

In this way, this feature prohibits all IPs that carry out actions considered malicious, or that could represent possible vulnerabilities or dangers for the site.

In addition to this, it allows filtering incidents according to date or time frame, number of records, and IP. All this through a gray, white, or blacklist that contains the IP addresses of those users who violate security rules.

– Firewall:

Another of the wonders of Imunify360 is its advanced firewall. This functionality -integrated into the system- uses a combination of cloud heuristics and AI technology intending to detect possible unknown threats and, consequently, to protect the server or site against attacks of all kinds, including brute-force attacks.

Imunify manages lists based on the firewall, adding IP’s to the black or white list. The white list houses IPs that should never be blocked, while the blacklist shows blocked or added IPs to restrict their access.

For its part, the gray list is automated. It lists the IPs of users who took any action that may be considered risky -such as logging in with an incorrect password. By violating the security rules, Imunify360 blocks it and adds it to the gray list. After that, it redirects users to the captcha and removes them from the list if they enter it correctly -automatically adding it again in case of repeated violation.

The main function of Inmunify360 is to stop as many attacks as it can, even before they start. However, it is also necessary for valid visitors to gain access to the website. For this, the reCAPTCHA becomes one of its characteristics.

This consists of an advanced Google system aimed at reducing false positives. In this way, it makes it easier for valid visitors to enter while preventing bots from being overlooked.

If real people try to visit the site and enter the wrong captcha, they will be added to the gray list. But, when correctly answering the requested information, the system removes them immediately. In this sense and to avoid the tedious validation process, the invisible reCAPTCHA becomes the perfect ally to improve the user experience since it uses Advanced Risk Analysis and Artificial Intelligence technology to determine if a visitor is a real human or not without showing the annoying verification screen.

– KernelCare:

KernelCare has been working in our servers for a long time, but now, is integrated into Imunify360 and seeks to keep the core of the server secure. For this, this tool is in charge of patching the Kernel automatically and without having to restart the server.

Through its features, KernelCare searches for new patches within hours. After that, it applies them directly to the server without even having any impact on kernel performance. Besides, it contains information on both the actual state and the version running, and the operating mode on the kernel.

– Malware Scanning:

This is a system whose objective is to scan the files to find possible malware injections. The scanner executes this process to automatically clean any infected file. In this regard, the Malware Scanner has a control panel that shows summaries of malware monitoring, and it performs this action in real-time and in actual statues.

– Reputation Management:

Imunify360 is positioning itself as one of the most effective and safest ways to protect a site or web server. But, that is not the only task that this system can fulfill. Another of its features is Reputation Management. This function analyzes if both your site and IP have been blocked and added to a blacklist.

The reason behind it is that each site or IP added to blacklists will be excluded from Google search results, which can significantly harm companies. In this regard, Imunify360 shows the reputation of the site through this functionality through lists of affected domains.

– Proactive Defense:

Contrary to what happens with traditional malware scanners -which only include functionalities to scan and identify existing infected files on your system- the Proactive Defense of Imunify360 is capable of protecting your website or server against new security threats.

In this way, Imunify360 analyzes the scripts and, besides, recognizes dangerous behaviors to prevent malware of any kind from running on the server. This is done continuously and automatically, in real-time, with zero latency -thus providing solid protection to PHP running websites.
